English Language Study Program Engages in Partnership Program with Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta, June 20, 2023 – The English Language Study Program at the University of Ma’arif Nahdlatul Ulama (UMNU) Kebumen is set to establish a groundbreaking partnership with the esteemed Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta. The collaborative effort aims to enhance cross-cultural understanding and academic cooperation between the two institutions, fostering a vibrant environment for international students from various backgrounds.
A crucial milestone was achieved during a recent discussion held at UGM, where representatives from both faculties shared their visions and outlined plans for a seminar on cross-cultural understanding. The event will provide a platform for international students studying at UGM, hailing from diverse countries, to engage in insightful discussions and exchange ideas. This seminar seeks to broaden their understanding of different cultures and encourage meaningful interactions among participants.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures from UGM’s Faculty of Cultural Sciences and UMNU’s English Language Study Program. Dr. Mimi Savitri, M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni of FIB UGM, and Dr. Adi Sutrisno, Head of the English Letter Division at FIB UGM, were present to represent UGM. Their participation highlighted the commitment of UGM in fostering academic collaborations and promoting intercultural dialogue.
The delegation from UMNU Kebumen included Hastri Firharmawan, M.Pd, Vice Rector II of UMNU Kebumen, Alek Andika, Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training, and Atik Muhimumatun Asroriyah, M.Ed, Head of the English Language Study Program. Together, they expressed their enthusiasm for this collaboration, emphasizing the value it would bring to their students’ educational experience.
Furthermore, several students from the English Language Education Study Program at UMNU Kebumen attended the discussion, actively contributing their perspectives and insights on the potential benefits of the partnership.
